EndeavorRx

What are the benefits of EndeavorRx for ADHD?

As the child's attention improves, the game becomes increasingly difficult. During an EndeavorRx session, a kid controls a character as they navigate a route while avoiding obstacles. While playing, they will be exposed to both visual and aural (hearing) stimulation, which will serve as sources of distraction.

Wouldn't it be fantastic if you could use video games to treat a medical condition? Doesn't that seem like something out of a science fiction novel or a child's fantasy come true? This future concept, believe it or not, is becoming a reality.

Digital therapies, or the use of technology to treat medical ailments, is on the rise. These treatments are changing things in a variety of ways. Digital treatments for mental health disorders are also fast growing in popularity.

EndeavorRx, a smartphone or mobile device app that helps treat attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, is one such example (ADHD). This FDA-approved video game is beneficial and can be used in conjunction with your child's current ADHD treatment plan.

We'll go over what EndeavorRx is and what to expect if your child's healthcare provider prescribes it.

What is EndeavorRx and how does it work?

EndeavorRx, developed by Akili Interactive, is the first and only FDA-approved prescription video game for children aged 8 to 12 years old with inattentive or combined-type ADHD. Through gameplay, this digital therapy aids in the development of attention abilities. As the child's attention improves, the game becomes increasingly difficult.

During an EndeavorRx session, a kid controls a character as they navigate a route while avoiding obstacles. While playing, they will be exposed to both visual and aural (hearing) stimulation, which will serve as sources of distraction.

In other words, the game demands the youngster to concentrate on multiple tasks at once. The app adapts to the child's performance as he or she learns to overcome these in-game distractions. The game subsequently becomes slightly more difficult than previously.

EndeavorRx is typically played for 25 minutes five days a week. The game should be played for at least four weeks, but it can be played for longer if a healthcare provider recommends it.

Is EndeavorRx available without a prescription?

Yes. To use EndeavorRx, you'll need a prescription from your doctor. Once a practitioner has decided that EndeavorRx is the best option for a kid, they will contact Phil, a pharmacist. This is the only pharmacy that can fill these prescriptions right now.

You'll get a text message with an activation code after your prescription is processed. You'll need to enter this code into the EndeavorRx app for your child to be able to play the game. Prescriptions are usually written for three months. This means that the software will be operational and playable for the next three months. You'll need a new activation code after that.

If you want to see how EndeavorRx looks and feels, you may go to their website or download a free 5-minute demo from the Apple App StoreR or Google PlayTM. Keep in mind that the demo is only meant to give you an idea of how EndeavorRx works. It's not intended to help your youngster with ADHD.
